What is a PADI Specialty Dive Course?  

At Scubadive West, we have an excellent reputation for the quality of our PADI Specialty courses. PADI agrees  and has named us Ireland's leading Specialty Diver training centre. Throughout the year, we run a range of Specialty courses designed to suit almost all levels of diver from PADI Openwater upwards. PADI Digital Underwater Photographer 

Digital photography has taken the world by storm. Get in on the action with the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Specialty course. You can quickly and easily capture the underwater world with your camera and on your computer. This is a 2 Day Specialty.    €260

PADI Drysuit Diver

 Diving in Ireland all year-round calls for a drysuit. In the PADI Dry Suit Diver Specialty course, you’ll learn how to use a dry suit safely and comfortably.  Drysuits are provided for this course. This is a 1 Day Specialty.          €160

PADI Deep Diver

Learn the techniques for diving to depths of 30-40 metres, and see things that others can only dream about! At Scubadive West we will teach you how to dive deep safely on our PADI Deep Diver Specialty course. Weather permitting we aim to take in the best diving the islands have to offer. This is a 2 Day Specialty         €295

PADI Enriched Air Diver - includes one boat dive

 Welcome to one of PADI’s and Scubadive West most popular specialties – the PADI Enriched Air Diver Specialty course. Diving with enriched air nitrox lets you safely extend your no stop time beyond the no decompression limits for air. Diving with enriched air means more time underwater – but you need to be certified as an Enriched Air Diver to get enriched air fills. Scubadive West offer a boat dive as part of this specialty. This is a 1 Day Specialty           €195

PADI Night Diver

At night-time the underwater world comes alive. Get up close and personal with friendly marine creatures and enjoy the thrill of night diving. Scubadive West runs thie PADI Night Diver Specialty course throughout the winter months. This is a 3 Dive Specialty          €190

PADI Boat Diver

Gain experience and training on diving from boats in your local area, learn boat diving safety techniques and the use of specific boat diving techniques, including the use of Surface Marker Buoys and surface lines.    €209

National Geographic Diver

Learn to dive like an underwater scientist on the National Geographic Diver Specialty, while honing your buoyancy and navigation skills. Throughout this course you will complete an underwater project of your choice; e.g map Scubadive West's house reef.    €280

PADI Underwater Navigator

Underwater navigation can be challenging, but in the PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty course, you master the challenge.You learn the tools of the trade, including navigation via natural clues and by compass. This is a 2 Day Specialty       €195

 PADI Search & Recovery Diver

Learn the techniques for underwater search patterns and methods to raise missing objects to the surface. This 2 day PADI Search and Recovery Specialty is always popular. You never know when you might be called upon to help find a missing anchor or even lost treasure!  €270

Combined Deep/Enriched Air Diver Weekend

 Achieve two PADI Specialty ratings in one weekend on Scubadive West's special combined PADI Deep/Enriched Air Specialty weekend. Complete two of your deep dives all on varying mixes of enriched air. Weather permitting we aim for world-class diving off the islands.    This is a 2 Day Specialty and is one of our most popular!         €395 for the two specialties in one weekend!
