Where in the Red Sea will we visit?

Given the popularity of 2009's trip to this unspoilt area, we have decided to return to the Southern Red Sea and stay in Marsa Shagra Eco-Village. Marsa Shagra is the largest of the Eco-Villages, located just 40kmsouth of Marsa Alam airport. Divers will stay in luxurious beach safari tents, situated opposite the world famous Elphinstone reef. 

The Southern Eco-Villages are the brainchild of Hossam Helmy and the 20 years' pioneering from his Red Sea Dive Safari team. The Eco-Villages and the pristine diving that they offer give visitors unsurpassed access to the reef oceanography of the Egyptian coastline between Safaga and Sudan.

What kind of diving is it?

Marsa Shagra benefits from fantastic housereefs with hard and soft corals of offshore quality. These reefs can be accessed from the shore or by a short zodiac ride. Underwater photographers will be in heaven! Unlimited diving on these house reefs is available to all guests of the camp.

Desert trucks leave the camp twice daily to explore the sharms, marsas and reef walls along the coral coast. Enjoy over 150km of coral fringe reef, from 8m coral gardens to 60m drop offs, pitted caves, elaborate tunnels and a huge diversity of marine lift to match.

Offshore boat diving day trips can be arranged on site and will visit such diving meccas as Elphinstone reef.

The Fury Shoal Explorer  is a luxury liveaboard offering mini-safaris (3 days, 2 nights) to the world famous Fury Shoals. This vessel will access dive sites and routes unkown to many other operators.

Where will divers stay?

We will stay in state of the art beach safari tents and full board; including meals and unlimited cake!! Accommodation upgrades are available; upgrades include Mandarah Lodge, Royal Tents and Madyafa Guesthouse.

How much does it cost?

We have arranged two packages for our 2010 trip; so one to suit all budgets.

All prices include flights from/to Gatwick airport to Marsa Alam, airport transfers, the diving package of your choice and full board and soft drinks for a week.

Marsa Shagra  Diving Option A                  £835

- Includes 6 Days unlimited shore diving

- Free use of zodiacs on house reefs

- 2 accompanied truck dives per day

Marsa Shagra Divng Option b       £1020

- 5 Nights land with 3 days unlimited shore/zodiac diving on the house reefs

- 2 accompanied daily truck dives for your 3 land based days

- 2 nights on the Fury Shoal Explorer with 3 days  liveaboard diving

Please note that these prices are as accurate as we can be but could vary slightly. However, we will be working closely with our tour operator and they have assured us as to the price accuracy. Booking is by a deposit of £250, payable directly to Oonas Divers by bank draft. This deposit must be paid by 1 February 2010 with the full balance payable by 1st August 2010.
