We are a full PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) school and provide all activities and courses from "Discover Scubadiving" to Instructor!


PADI Discover Scuba Diving - €89 Half day, €140 Full Day.  Our Beautiful Dive Cove

The PADI Discover Scubadiving is a try a dive experience designed for complete beginners and those with no previous diving experience. PADI Discover Scuba Diving allows you to experience the fun and adventure of the underwater world in the safety of our sheltered cove. Scubadive West's PADI Instructors will ensure that your introduction to scuba diving is fun and easy. Please be aware that PADI Discover Scubadiving does not qualify you to dive without supervision; this is not a diving certification but a diving experience.


PADI Open Water Diver - €595           

The PADI Openwater Diver certification qualifies you to scuba dive to a depth of 18 metres anywhere around the world and is designed for those with no previous scuba diving experience.Earning your PADI Open Water Diver certification is just the beginning. As a PADI certified diver, fabulous dive destinations, exciting people, unparalleled adventure and uncommon tranquility await you. And, as you continue your adventure and gain experience through higher training levels, your opportunities expand.


PADI Refresher Dives/Discover Local Diving    €80 half-day     €120 full day

Haven't dived in a while, or completed your training abroad and looking to start diving in Ireland? At Scubadive West you can complete the PADI supervised dives required for diving independently with a dive buddy. Our expert PADI Instructors and PADI Divemasters will ensure you dive comfortably and safely.


 National Geographic Diver - €840National Geographic Diver add on to Openwater

                                            - €280 as a PADI Specialty

As Ireland's leading National Geographic Dive Centre, Scubadive West offers the the National Geographic Diver rating on an ongoing basis. As an extension to the PADI Openwater Diver Course, the National Geographic Diver includes two additional dives; working on your buoyancy and underwater navigation skills. You will also complete an underwater project of your choice; e.g. you might undertake a mapping project of Scubadive West's kelp reef. Once qualified you will join an elite group of underwater explorers and dive like an underwater scientist.


PADI Advanced Open Water Diver  €399      Year Round Dive Courses

 

After completing the PADI Openwater Diver course, you will be looking to expand your experiences. The PADI Advanced Openwater Diver programme qualifies you to dive to a depth of 30 metres and is an exciting course. At Scubadive West we complete the course over one weekend. Start on a Friday afternoon, complete 5 dives over the weekend and leave here as an Advanced Openwater Diver on Sunday evening!


  Emergency First Response Program (EFR) €145

PADI Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR) teaches you how to deal with emergencies that are immediately life threatening.. You will focus on primary care through a combination of knowledge development, skill development and realistic scenario practice to make sure you have the knowledge, understanding and confidence to use your skills. 


 PADI Rescue Diver - €429

The PADI Rescue Diver course teaches you to focus on other divers as well as yourself, showing you how to recognise & prevent potential diving accidents before they occur & how to handle them if they do. Although the topic of the course is serious our students consistently say that this is the most enjoyable and rewarding course they have done. Indeed, many of our PADI Rescue Divers go onto become our most valued Divemasters and recreational divers.



 PADI Specialty Diver Courses

PADI specialty dive courses and dives allow you to pursue your special interests and meet other divers who enjoy the same activities. These courses refresh your diving skills and teach you new techniques necessary to safely participate in various types of diving. 2009 Master Scubadiver Challenge

Achieve 5 PADI Specialties and your PADI Rescue Diver course and obtain PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.

Complete 5 PADI Specialties with Scubadive West between August 2008 and December 2009, and enter our  2009 Master Scuba Diver Challenge and be in with the chance to win a free Divemaster Internship.


All of our PADI specialty courses include equipment rental if required, tuition, air fills, full use of the dive centre, and certification. You may purchase the 'Adventures in Diving' manual from us if you do not already possess it.



 PADI Master Scubadiver - POA

When you have achieved the PADI Rescue Diver rating and 5 of the above PADI specialties, you are eligible for PADI's highest non-professional rating - MASTER SCUBADIVER. The Master Scubadiver rating is a 'mark of distinction' that denotes 'high achievement'.


PADI Divemaster €610

To begin your full or part time career in diving, attain the PADI Divemaster rating. After successfully completing PADI Advanced Open Water and Rescue Diver training, you'll work closely with a PADI instructor to expand your diving skills and knowledge to a professional level.

Owning and operating a dive centre or resort, working full-time on a live-aboard dive boat or teaching in an inland or resort environment are just a few possibilities. A scubadiving career can break you out of a 9-to-5 office job, or provide you with an enjoyable part-time vocation.

The PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) is the heart of the PADI Instructor training process.  

During the PADI IDC, you'll apply your diving skills and knowledge to learning to teach the PADI system in the classroom, confined water (pool) and open water.All IDC's are conducted by PADI Course Directors, each a highly experienced instructor trainer who has met strict educational proficiency requirements.
